Blue Haven Village is fully owned by
Kiama Council, which has operated the Village and the adjoining
Residential Aged Care Facility since 1979.
The Retirement Village consists of 203
Independent Living Units, while the Residential Aged Care Facility
contains 52 Nursing Home beds and 30 Hostel rooms.
The Independent Living Units are
acquired by way of a loan-licence agreement, with prices ranging
between $102,000 and $800,000, depending upon size and view. Unit
designs range between single-bedroom units, to large three-bedroom
units with two bathrooms.

Access into the Residential Aged
Care Facility is on an assessed needs basis, for those who
are unable to continue live independently.
Manager of Kiama Council’s Blue
Haven Retirement Village, Mr Steve Dawson indicated that in
the little more than 18 months since the completion of the
latest Stage 5, the building is now more than 75 percent
occupied.
Stage 5 comprises 88 Independent
Living Units, together with a 200 seat conservatory, an
observation deck and Sky Lounge overlooking the ocean and
beautiful Kiama township. |

“With waiting times at most Villages
currently eight to ten years, there is a very real need for quality
Retirement Village accommodation close to shops and transport” Mr
Dawson added.
