In 1925, Dr Olver bequeathed his home, "Ventogymps", situated on the corner of Victoria Avenue and Hercules Street for use as a Community Hospital.  Kuring-gai Community Service Hospital opened in 1927.

In 1956, the Hospital became a public hospital, Chatswood District Community Hospital and continued serving the community until 1989.

When Chatswood District Community Hospital closed in June 1989 due to the rationalisation of health services, the Board decided that they still wished to provide a community service to the people of Willoughby / Chatswood.

Chatswood Community Nursing Home was opened in November 1992.  It occupies the site of the former Chatswood District Community Hospital.  The restored two-storey "Olver" House and adjacent Federation cottage have been incorporated in the new building.

The Home is set out on two levels with lift access and accommodates 52 Residents.
