ACS, in association with ACON, has received funding from the Department of Health and Ageing, to facilitate awareness workshops for Aged Care staff on the challenges and issues facing the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) ageing community.
These 2 workshops are aimed at management and care staff in all areas of the sector who at some time may care for members of the GLBTI community.
The aims of the program are to increase awareness of the physical, psychological and cultural challenges facing members of the GLBTI community in aged care.
