Work Health & Safety Act 2012

The ACS Learning Centre/RTO has been awarded the WorkCover Assist Grant for 2011. Through this grant ACS will be rolling out FREE two day workshop awareness training on the new national “Work Health & Safety Legislation” (WHS) and the “Work Health & Safety Regulation”. The new Act will be introduced nationally from 1st January 2012.

Under the guidelines for the program, ACS will conduct regional and metropolitan Train the Trainer workshops for our members throughout NSW and the ACT. The training will cover all areas of the aged care sector, Residential, Community and Retirement. Two employees from each facility or community care organisation will be invited to attend the training. At the completion of the training, the participants will be given copies of all the training resources with the expectation that they will return to their workplace where they will facilitate training on the new Act and Regulation to all staff members. It is anticipated the workshops will be rolled out from September 2011 and that through this method over 70,000 staff in the aged care sector will receive this training.
